The 2026 Australian Rowing Championships (ARC26)
The 2026 Australian Rowing Championships (ARC26) is well underway as Rowing Australia marks more than ten years of transformative support from Hancock Prospecting and our Patron, Gina Rinehart AO.
Through Hancock Prospecting’s backing, our athletes are showcasing their extraordinary talents at the world-class Lake Barrington International Regatta Centre in North West Tasmania.
Mrs Rinehart shared her support for the competitors: “Rowing demands unrelenting dedication, early mornings, and sacrifices most never see. They wear the green and gold with great pride, and strive to represent our country at their very best. That’s why we’ve stayed committed for over ten years, to give our rowers the resources to train and compete.
“As Patron I’m proud that Hancock Prospecting’s decade plus partnership has helped turn promising school and club rowers into Olympic and Paralympic athletes and competitors on the world stage.”
The event was officially opened, Monday, by Mr Ian Chesterman OAM, President of the Australian Olympic Committee.
“It’s exciting to see such strong participation numbers at these Championships as the Olympic and Paralympic journey to Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane in 2032 begins picks up speed. I wish everyone the very best of luck for the regatta at Lake Barrington in the beautiful state of Tasmania,” said Chesterman.
With a record 2,100 competitors entered, the event is testament to the dept of talent emerging through our pathways. Athletes, from the youngest school crews to the current Rowsellas, race together in the same elite arena. As we look toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the championships serve as the premier proving ground for our next generation of champions.
