The Australian Volleyball Olympic team were sent off to Rio in style, with a corporate partners luncheon held on the 21st of July in Sydney.
The two women’s beach volleyball teams who are representing Australia at the games were cheered on by guests, who enthusiastically joined the girls and got into the Rio spirit.
Craig Carracher, President of Volleyball Australia, made a special presentation to send off the girls, and also thanked Mrs. Rinehart for her significant support of volleyball. In his keynote speech, Craig thanked Hancock Prospecting, the Georgina Hope Foundation and especially Mrs Rinehart who he described “as Australia’s great ambassador, offering guidance to our young athletes, leadership to our sport and motivation for our young Olympians”. Mr Carracher noted that it was very exciting when Mrs Rinehart joined the athletes the night they won their Olympic qualification in Cairns, flying in especially to share the occasion and celebrate the outstanding success in beating the best in Asia to qualify for Rio just 3 weeks prior.
As Rio fast approaches, all from Hancock Prospecting, the Georgina Hope Foundation, and Mrs. Rinehart wish the volleyballers all the very best for the Olympics, and are looking forward to cheering them on.
