Hancock Prospecting and the Georgina Hope Foundation were pleased to return as major sponsor of the 13th Parkerville Children and Youth Care’s annual charity luncheon, held at Crown Towers Perth on October 13th.
Parkerville Children and Youth Care is a Not-For-Profit organisation located throughout West Australia, with a focus to protect, care, advocate and promote recovery for children and young people who have experienced trauma from abuse, to support families and to work with the community to prevent child abuse.
The speeches were all very, very touching, and we were told that children who suffer genuinely from abuse have low expectation from life and become under achievers.
Hancock’s Executive Chairman, Mrs. Gina Rinehart has been a long term supporter or Parkerville privately for a number of years, and was delighted to be able to assist the organisation’s biggest fundraising efforts as major sponsor.
The luncheon was attended by over 1200 guests, including by representatives of Hancock prospecting and the Georgina Hope foundation, and the luncheon was a very successful event, raising much needed funds for a very worthy cause.
Parkerville’s introduction of major sponsor – Mrs. Gina Rinehart:
“We would like to very warmly again thank Gina Rinehart, our very special major sponsor of today’s lunch, and executive chairman of the Hancock Prospecting Group. Mrs. Rinehart has privately been a long term supporter of Parkerville Children and Youth Care, and we are thrilled to have her and her company group returning as major sponsor of the Parkerville Children and Youth Care’s annual lunch.
Growing up on a remote outback station in our north west, Mrs. Rinehart is now one of the foremost figures in both mining and agriculture, and related industries globally. After becoming Executive Chairman of the Hancock Prospecting Group in 1992, she has been responsible for the growth of the company group to get to the position it is in today. Something west Australians should be proud of. And it is after her decades of hard work in these industries which has made it possible for Mrs. Rinehart to be in a position to be able to support such worthwhile causes as ours in the community.
Mrs. Rinehart is a generous supporter and patron to many worthwhile causes – a true patriot – and is delighted to be able to support such important causes in West Australia both privately and through her various foundations.
On behalf of Parkerville, I would like to thank Mrs. Rinehart in her absence for her years of private support and more recently for the Hancock Prospecting Group’s generous support, which will make the world of difference – thank you Gina.”
