Australian by design, Kidman’s latest exciting milestone
In a uniquely Australian moment, and for the first time at the festival, the music was supplied live led by Luke Kennedy, for the Kidman models to open the show, accompanied by the wonderful Aussie song, “I still call Australia home”. The Kidman collections were worn by some of the country’s most celebrated swimmers, fresh from outstanding performances at the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships. Shayna Jack was joined on the runway by her gold medal winning brother Jamie Jack insert and her fellow gold medal champion swimmers Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister and Meg Harris, amongst others, bringing together Australian fashion and sporting excellence.
The runway showcased Kidman’s distinctive approach to Australian style – pieces designed to move effortlessly from country to country town life and the city, combining practicality and comfort with Australian quality and design. The looks were complemented by jewellery from internationally renowned Queensland designer Margot McKinney.
Kidman by Shayna, plus a Kidman lace coat, worn by a beaming Shayna Jack, was the first to walk the runway, followed by three models wearing three more of Shayna’s inaugural designs. Shayna again appeared at the grand finale of the newest Kidman range, wearing another stunning white lace kidman coat, this one trimmed with white goose feathers, covering a shiny white two piece swim suit, plus the latest Kidman boot range, shiny embroidered gold boots, topped with a Kidman hat adorned by flowers. Shayna carried a long leafy bouquet, featuring some thin gold ribbons, symbolising the green and gold of Australia. She was accompanied by two more swimmers, guests of Shayna’s soon to be wedding, representing her bridesmaids and attired in stunning fuchsia and dark blue lace coats and matching shiny swimwear, plus silver embroidered boots also from the latest Kidman boot range.
Mrs Rinehart said the Brisbane Fashion Festival was a natural fit for Kidman, reflecting both the company’s Queensland connections, with its agricultural headquarters being in Brisbane, and its commitment to celebrating outstanding Australians, including Australia’s Olympic swimming champions, most of whom train and live in Queensland.
The opening of the 175 Eagle Street flagship and Kidman’s Brisbane Fashion Festival opening mark an exciting next chapter for Kidman, as this brand continues to grow while remaining proudly connected to the pioneering spirit, resilience and character at the heart of Australia and its history.
