The Daniel Keighran VC Apartments in Norman Park, Brisbane have opened as part of Gina Rinehart AO’s $200 million private commitment to veteran housing. Run by Veteran Housing Australia and The Salvation Army, the complex is already providing homes for veterans and follows the opening of multiple veterans’ residences in Perth. The initiative honours Daniel Keighran VC and supports Mrs Rinehart’s call for more practical action to help veterans sleeping rough, including repurposing unused Defence sites and allowing veterans to work without losing their pensions.
