This year marks a very special milestone for the Hancock Prospecting Group – a celebration for Mrs. Gina Rinehart ao who has strongly led the Group for 30 years in her role as Executive Chair. During this time, Mrs. Rinehart has led the company to become one of the most successful private mining houses in the world, not to mention the most successful private company in Australia’s history, after taking on the position of Chair when the company was not in a good position.

The inaugural Swimming Patron’s Gala was held in Brisbane on November 19th to celebrate the amazing year for Australia’s swimmers, and for their coaches, friends and families of swimmers to come together and recognise all that our champion swimmers do.

“Perth is synonymous with light and after the success of the CBD’s first drone show this February, the City of Light shows will honour our new brand and reinforce that no city lights up like Perth,” City of Perth Lord Mayor Zempilas said. The City of Light Shows are proudly presented by the Hancock Group of companies, including Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill and Atlas Iron. The City will be illuminated over the summer with six special light shows to wow the people of Perth from November to February.

Artistic Swimming Western Australia (ASWA) is extremely honoured and proud to have Mrs Gina Rinehart AO as our Patron. Mrs Rinehart and the support of the Hancock Prospecting Group has played an integral role over the past eight years in nurturing and developing our sport, transforming it into one that has, and continues to develop Western Australia’s artistic swimmers into accomplished women and world class athletes.

Swimming Queensland is proud of its long-standing partnership with Mrs Gina Rinehart and Hancock Prospecting and finds the negative characterisation in some quarters of Mrs Rinehart’s new sponsorship of another sport regrettable. Mrs Rinehart’s sponsorship of swimming spans more than three decades, ranging from swimming clinics for indigenous children in remote communities through to helping our high performance swimmers pursue their sporting dreams.

The support that Hancock Prospecting and Mrs Rinehart AO provides to Rowing Australia (RA) and most importantly its athletes, dating back to 2015, has been a game changer for our sport. RA is proud that it provides equitable athlete support across its programs.
