Australia’s 4x200m relay team has taken gold and set a new world mark to cap off another successful night in the pool.

Madison Wilson led the team off before Kiah Melverton and Mollie O’Callaghan built a substantial lead over Canada.

Ariarne Titmus entered the pool with a massive lead, but it was all about the clock and she produced a stunning final leg to break China’s world record from the Tokyo Olympics.

Titmus’ split time of 1:52.82 was the fastest 200m swim in history – better than Italian Frederica Pellegrini’s 2009 world record of 1:52.98.

It sparked wild scenes from coach Dean Boxall in the stands.

The win was achieved without swimming queen Emma McKeon, who pulled out of the race after sealing her 11th gold earlier in the night.
